学名：Physalis peruviana

分類：ナス科　ホオズキ属

原産：南アメリカ

特徴：多年草。

　　　果実はビタミンA・Bを豊富に含み、甘酸っぱくて美味しい。
　　　南米原産だが、18世紀にイギリスで、19世紀に喜望峰周辺で盛んに栽培された。

　　　英名は喜望峰(Cape of Good Hope)に由来。
